Beyond Our Ken: Toe to toe with Ken Lo Like most fans of martial arts action cinema, I first became aware of Ken Lo (AKA Lo Wai-kong) due to his final reel duel with Jackie Chan in Drunken Master 2. In this fight, Lo displays his legendary 180 degree kick amid a display of boot work that harks back to the glory days of Korean bad guys Wong Jang Lee and Hwang In-shik. I actually met him on the set of that film. Back in the day, you could pretty much walk onto the Golden Harvest back lot unhindered and watch them shoot, and I used to do just that. -- Ip Man -- Plot Outline: The film opens with Ip Man (Donnie Yen) being challenged by Master Liao (Chen Zhi Hui), who just set up a wushu school, in a closed match. Martial Zealot Lin (Xing Yu) who witnessed the entire fight tells everyone about Master Liu losing. Seeing it as a public humiliation, Master Liao gets into disputes with Ip Man.
Henchmen of Jin Shan Zhao (Fan Siu Wong) are going around challenging various wushu schools in Foshan. In one fight, Martial Zealot Lin is mortally wounded. Ip Man comes to his rescue, only to be stopped by Jin Shan Zhao. Everyone gathers around to watch the match whereby Ip Man dispenses the latter with ease using four Wing Chun Forms: fist, footwork, blade and cudgel.
Ip Man becomes an instant hero and there develops a craze for Wing Chun in Foshan.
Following Japanese invasion in 1937, everyone's life is adversely affected. Ip Man's property is confiscated and his family is forced to live in a decrepit house. Being one with strong pride, Ip Man refuses charity from his wealthy friend Zhou Qing Quan (Simon Yam), opting instead to work as a coolie at his cotton mill to sustain his family.
One day, General Miura (Hiroyuki Ikeuchi), together with his troops, arrives at the mill. As a fanatical practitioner in martial arts himself, he sets up an arena, offering rice as a reward. Ip Man keeps a low profile but Martial Zealot Lin enthusiastically takes up the challenge... Love Asia Film

--Legendary Assassin -- Here are some excerpts from what Celina Jade says concerning shooting her first MV:
Wow, was that an experience or what! You know Music videos are not like films, there is no rolling credit at the end that do justice for the effort and time put in. So even though, these ppl may not ever read my blog, in fact, some don't even know it exists. I thought the public and my friends should know the team behind the scenes that made it happen.

-- She Ain't Mean/Not All Women Are Bad -- Release for She Ain't Mean/Not All Women Are Bad by Tsui Hark is being pushed back from October to early December 2008. The film distributors believe that as the film is filled with fantasy and comical elements, it's more suited for a holiday season. Moreover, the film is still in post-production, and October would be too rushed for the science-fiction elements in the film require massive work. Sohu

-- Wing Chun --
Emperor Motion Pictures is planning to produce a Wing Chun film, with Benny Chan directing. Nicholas Tse and Gillian Chung are set to play the leading roles. The female lead was originally intended for Isabella Leong but owing to her dispute with the company, Gillian Chung was chosen to fill the role instead.
Charlene Choi says, "Gillian Chung is feeling better now, and as it has always been her dreams to do kung fu films, she has bought some Wing Chun manuals. I often tease her for studying martial arts manuals. She's also training under some martial arts coaches." Zhejiang Entertainment, 67 Follow-up: However, further enquiries made with Emperor Pictures reveals that nothing is set in the stone, including the script, the director and the cast. Sina
