An adaptation from Gu Long's namesake novel. While the storyline is quite a departure from the original novel (as is the case with most Gu Long novel adaptations), it is fairly well-written. Some pretty well-choreographed, interesting martial arts sequences from Lu Feng. This serial shows the differences between appearance and reality: As there are two sides to a coin, don't jump to any conclusion without knowing the whole picture.
Plot Synopsis:
The martial arts world is a place where dangers are lurking everywhere: The evil-doings of the mysterious Half-Moon Sect, the nefarious plans of scheming pugilists who are coveting the honourable post as the Chief of Pugilistic Alliance, as well as their ambition to dominate the martial arts world.
A willful young lady, Tian Si-Si (Ji Qin), who was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, often builds sand castle in the air about marrying some great, prominent hero. Her father, Tian Bin (Cao Zhi-De), the Chief of Pugilistic Alliance, holds a martial arts competition where the winner gets to marry her.
Yang Fan (Wu Jing) inadvertently intervenes a fight during the contest and wins. As a result, Si-Si is to marry him. However, both of them are always at odds with each other. Besides, Yang Fan doesn't hanker after wealth and fame, and is a nobody who just sets foot into the martial arts world.
