| " ... the divine-looking cast members
are immortals with less personality than their weapons." The Straits Times,
August 8, 2001
Now let's take a look at the interesting, imaginative array of weapons
in Legend of Zu most of which are formed by energy and entirely CGI. When
called forth, they appear out of nowhere and vanish into thin air when
unsummoned.
Golden Wheel of Sun and Moon
Kun-Lun Sect's holy weapon. Consists of Moon Blade and Sun Orb. The
crescent shaped Moon Blade is a weapon that orbits around the Sun Orb,
the latter of which can be magnified into a spherical barrier big enough
to protect its owner from harm. The Golden Wheel of Sun and Moon flies around
freely and can be shrunken easily to be kept. It has the ability to recognise
and identify its owner. Owned by Abbess Crescent Moon Cheung who later
gives to Xuan Tian-Zong.

Divine Dragon Guillotine
Consists of 72 blades hidden behind Dan Chen-Zi's. Looks like a pair
of wings. Being part of
person's body, movement of weapon is controlled by the mind of its
owner.

Sky Reflector
A translucent piece of saucer-shaped glass which radiates rays of
light that immobilise the opponent as long as its light is still shone
on them. Owner: White Brows.

Luminous Sword Beyond Inferno
A mass of sparkling crystals White Brows obtains from another dimension.
He later passes it down to Xuan Tian-Zong. Floats in the air. Can
be transformed into a sword. Is able to create the illusion of a person's
image miles away and enable long distance communication.

Light Dispersing Sword of Grandness
When wielded in the correct sequence, discharges of a spinning array
of swords of light that flies
towards multiple targets. Owner: Duan Lei.

Heaven Striking Sword
A guardian weapon of Er-Mei Sect. A mass of rainbow-coloured misty
ribbon-like energy that flies freely at the command of its master, usually
a lady. Travels at a very high speed. With highly destructive power that
blows up anything in its way. Inherited by the Li Ying-Qi.

Flaming Sword of Thunder
The other guardian weapon of Er-Mei Sect. A sword that can extend to
an incredible length of hundreds of metres. Powerful enough to split
up a mountain. When united with Heaven Striking Sword, becomes a force
faster than the speed of light and their power is unstoppable. First Owner:
Chang-Kong Wu-Ji. After the failed attempt by Li Ying-Qi and Chang-Kong
Wu-Ji to combine the two swords, it turns into a rusty piece of scrap metal.
The two swords have a soul of their own and decides on who should inherit
them. For example, anyone else who tries to control the Flaming Sword of
Thunder will be charred by its flaming thunder. Once it has determined
its (second) master, Lian Xing (played Wu Jing), it sticks to him no matter
where he goes and even in its rusty state. Will Lian Xing (the real star
of the movie) eventually be able to enable the Flaming Sword of Thunder
to regain its glorious state?
