-- Wu Jing's Upcoming Project in 2008 --
During a chat with his fans on Dec 23rd, Wu Jing says that he's very busy working on his next project right now. He reveals that it should begin production in Hong Kong in around March 2008 or so. The martial arts sequences are expected to be extremely "rigorous". However, he says it is not for certain that he'd be directing. He'd be working with Nicky Li. The cast has not been confirmed yet. But, basically, those coming into contact with him must be able to fight, as they'd be doing very demanding action scenes.
However, it's not all plain-sailing as the script is not up to their expectations. They often hold meetings, collect information, watch matches, and might possibly incorporate some Mixed Martial Arts elements. So, sometimes, they'd feel mentally exhausted. They intend to do something big, and hope it'd be able to be released in Mainland and Hong Kong at the same time. As such, they'd have to make the film not too violent as to be rejected by Mainland censors. They're occupied with all these. Let's hope they iron out all wrinkles on the script by end of February so that production may begin on schedule.
Wu Jing maintains a daily 3-hr work-out, starting with warm up, 1.2km jog, then he would do static trainings consisting of 5 sets of 150 repetitions. Following that is completing 8km jog within 50 minutes. After which he does abdominal exercise - 400 times...
Apart from training, Wu Jing is also resting, recuperating from all the various injuries he had suffered in the recent films, so that he would be in best condition when filming begins. There would be some shots which others would not be able to accomplish or have never been seen before. He hopes it would be a surprise to everyone.
Wu Jing says his makeup in Fatal Move was fine but it's not especially convenient to fight as the hair on one side was heavy and also obscured his view. Sometimes, he couldn't see clearly the other party's weapon, so he just had to fight instinctively.
While in the recent years, Wu Jing has been focusing his career on movies, he does not rule out the possibilities of doing TV series again. Wu Jing says that he has convinced his manager Paco Wong to let him take up TV roles again when there are chances. He is eying on a script whereby he gets to play a soldier in modern time.
He also tells his Chinese fans not to spend money buying gifts. He appreciates their thoughts but he'd rather they make donations to charity such as One Foundation, Red Cross, when they think of giving him something. Still, he would not mind it they make their own gifts - something that doesn't cost much - for him.
And finally, Wu Jing wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Jing Xin Xiao Zhu
