Life is offered to me on condition of eating beefsteaks. But death is better than cannibalism. My will contains directions for my funeral, which will be followed not by mourning coaches, but by oxen, sheep, flocks of poultry, and a small traveling aquarium of live fish, all wearing white scarfs in honor of the man who perished rather than eat his fellow creatures."

Wednesday, August 22. 2007Corey Yuen on Rogue Assassin/War
-- Corey Yuen Declares War --
It's not often that you get a chance to talk to one of the great Hong Kong martial arts choreographers, mainly because so few of them speak English. In this case, when ComingSoon.net had a chance to interview Corey Yuen (The Transporter, Kiss of the Dragon), we had to do the interview via Email, which is rarely ideal but often necessary. Yuen proved to be a man of few words as he answered a dozen questions quickly and concisely. Coming Soon Media >>More<<

Wednesday, August 15. 2007Wisely to be Brought to Screen?
-- Wisely --
Donnie Yen, who is currently filming Kingdom and Beauty and would be doing Painted Skin remake next, is taking a break from martial arts choreography and is conserving his energy and inspirations for a movie adaptation of Wisely, a detective/mystery novel series by Ni Kuang, "Wilson Yip is currently working on the script, taking care of all the character designs. I'd be in charge of the action direction, and I'd also be taking on the role of Wisely. Wisely is a more gentle, refined, cultured person compared to Ma Jun of Flash Point, so the choreography leans towards this direction." Production for Wisely is likely to start in around December. - In 1958, Shaw Movietown (a literal translation of the Chinese name of Shaw Studio), a new and large studio built in Clearwater Bay (Kowloon) went into operation in 1960.
- In 2000, Shaw sold its entire film library (more than 750 films) to Celestial Pictures, a subsidiary of Malaysian Conglomerate, Astro All Asian Networks. Celestial Pictures rented the legendary Shaw Building as its headquarters.

Tuesday, August 7. 2007Ngai Sing Shares His Thoughts on Working on Flash Point
-- Ngai Sing on Working on Flash Point --
“Flash Point” with acclaimed Hong Kong director Wilson Yip and veteran actor/stunt coordinator Donnie Yen is scheduled to be released soon. The production began in October of ’06 and took 5 months to finish. Even with my 20 plus years of film production experiences, the cohesive teamwork between Wilson and Donnie was a real eye-opener, like no other productions I had worked on. The success of this film is also attributed to the film’s producers Beijing Poly-bona Film Publishing Company’s Dong Yu, Enlight Pictures’ Zhang Zhao, Mandarin Films’ Raymond Wong, and Nansun Shi; having consistently supported Wilson and Donnie when production was over budget and behind schedule.
