Having devoting his cause to One Foundation since wrapping up Mummy 3 in late 2007, Jet Li remains tepid about filmmaking, preferring to talk about charity to films.
Jet Li continues that he's been receiving several offers, especially towards the end of 2008, when he kept getting calls hurrying him. He has several film offers awaiting him in US, and one in China, "But I still lay down one condition, I'll consider cameos before actual roles, for I need only spend a few weeks at most, and I can spend the rest of my time on charity."
Since its inception til September 30, 2008, One Foundation had received 98m yuan in donations. It contributed 22.75m yuan in between July to September 2008.
Possible upcoming projects for Jet Li this year include Expendables in March and A Kung Fu Western Love Story, a joint venture between China and New Zealand later this year.
Expendables, which begins production next month in Brazil and Louisiana, is a about a group of "expendable" mercenaries sent to a South American country to overthrow its merciless dictator to free the populace. Sylvester Stallone directs and stars in the film. The main cast also includes Jet Li, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Forest Whitaker and Ben Kingsley, as well as a possible cameo by Arnold Schwazenegger. XKB

-- Coweb -- Coweb, directed by Xiong Xin Xin, has completed post-production recently and just been approved by Mainland censors. The martial arts film, starring Jiang Lu Xia, Sam Lee, Kane Kosugi, Cheung Siu Fai and Mike Moller, hits the theatres in May.
Jiang Lu Xia, a martial artist who rises to fame on the web through a series of shorts, plays a wushu coach who gets embroiled in fights against scores of opponents in a bid to save her kidnapped employer in Hong Kong. These fights are broadcast live on the internet with high stakes being placed illegally on the outcome.

Legend of Shaolin Kungfu II: Thirteen Cudgel Monks has just been released on DVD. Thirteen Cudgel Monks is the 2nd of the highly successful epic martial arts trilogy, each with its own unique and independent story, that revolves around Shaolin Temple. Apart from a gripping script, director Du Xiao ensures that the martial arts sequences are as authentic and exhilarating as possible by casting genuine martial artists and employing top-notch martial arts choreographers, with Yuen Bun lending his expertise this time around.
Thirteen Cudgel Monks has just been aired in a few Chinese provinces to top viewership ratings while the third part 18 Arhats is expected to begin production in the near future. Yuen Biao joins the original cast that include Li Yuan, Xie Miao, Ye Jian Wei, Sun Hui Ning, Ji Chun Hua, Wu Ma, etc., playing the head monk Tan Zong that is instrumental in assembling, training and leading 12 other warrior monks in rescuing the Tang Prince Li Shimin and aiding him in a war against the tyrannical warlord Wang Shi Chong played by Beardy Leung Kar Yan. -- Junior Soldiers -- Junior Soldiers has begun production on Feb 3 in Yuanmo county, Yunnan. The movie, which has been in Jackie Chan's mind for 20 years, is produced and written by Jackie Chan who also stars in it. Juniors soldiers is described as a period arthouse movie set in Qin dynasty that focuses on the journey of three people and a horse.
With the earth being threatened by climate change, Jackie Chan advises the production to be more concerned about the environment, encouraging everyone on the set not to smoke, and not to litter. Anyhow, it helps most to change to a vegetarian diet.
On that day, they were filming a scene where Jackie Chan, a general, in his drunken stupor, destroys a wooden post by the inn. The inn was built recently at a cost of around 100 thousand yuan. Sina

-- Dark October -- Dark October, produced by Peter Chan, is slated for production in March. Director Teddy Chan was planning the film back in 2004 when the investor committed suicide resulting in the production being stalled. With Peter Chan stepping in, financing for the 1.5m yuan film has been secured. The cast is likely to include Chow Yun Fatt and Donnie Yen, and perhaps Lau Ching Wan, Jacky Cheung, Leon Lai, Aaron Kwok, Ji Jin Hee, Kwon Sang Woo.
In Dark October, Sun Yat Sen (Chow Yun Fatt) heads to Hong Kong to raise funds for uprising activities. Learning of assassination attempt by the Manchu government, the businessman (Leon Lai) in Hong Kong who is responsible for receiving Sun Yat Sen hires elite bodyguards (Donnie Yen et al.) to protect him, eventually escorting him back to Guangzhou safely.
