Hu Jun 胡军 as Da Chun 大春
When the director came to me, he said, "I'm going to change your image, something out of character for you." After going through the script I find this character very interesting, it's really something I've never endeavoured before, it's half-human, half-robot. While he's still a human, he's a cop. After becoming a cyborg, he has fighting scenes, and his appearance changes too. But, he's never a tough guy.

-- Ip Man 2 -- During an interview, Raymond Wong was asked about the progress of Ip Man 2. He says that director Wilson Yip and his son Edmond Wong, script writer for the film, have been to Foshan to collate information, and Bruce Lee might not be appearing in the immediate sequel (or at least not until the third movie), "Right now, the script hasn't reached Bruce Lee's part, and the sequel's budgeted at around 100m yuan. We're considering building sets."
As to Fan Siu Wong and Lam Ka Tung's characters, "In the original film, they're supposed to be dead, but owing to Mainland censorship, the scenes depicting their deaths were cut, so, they'd still have a chance to appear in the sequel."
On being asked about The Great Master, Wong Kar Wai's version, starring Tony Leung, Gong Li, Chang Chen, with Yuen Wo Ping, who just completed filming True Legend in January, being approached to be the choreographer, that begins production in a few months, Raymond Wong says Wong Kar Wai's style is different, and it's wonderful for him to shoot it.

-- Forbidden City Cop: Smart Dog -- Having wrapped up Future Cops two months ago, Wong Jing is off to direct another movie, this time a spin-off of Forbidden City Cop called 《大内密探灵灵狗》 which roughly means Forbidden City Cop: Smart Dog (or 009 onomatopoeically). This period comedy, starring Louis Koo, Barbie Hsu, Fan Siu Wong, Liu Yi Wei, Sandra Ng, Tong Da Wei, and Yuen King Tan, is currently undergoing production in a palace in Beijing.
Forbidden City Cop: Smart Dog takes place in some distant past, whereby the emperor (Liu Yi Wei) has 12 Secret Imperial Guards, who are named after the 12 Zodiac signs, to protect him around the clock. Louis Koo plays the Chief Imperial Guard known as Smart Dog, as his zodiac sign corresponds to that of the dog. He has emotional entanglements with swordswoman Hopeless, played by Barbie Hsu. Fan Siu Wong takes on the role of a wildly ambitious eunuch, who wants to usurp the throne. And to carry out his plan, he has to get rid of the 12 Secret Imperial Guards. Chutian Metropolis Daily

Yu Yuan Qi of a Chengdu cultural firm reveals that they're doing a wuxia comedy with Stephen Chow and a Beijing studio. He says that they have reached an initial agreement with The Stars Overseas after a few negotiations with Tin Kai Man, and Tsang Kang Cheung is writing the script for the untitled wuxia comedy. Being concerned about the rebuilding of Sichuan since the devastating earthquake last May, Stephen Chow has always hoped to do something for her. Hence, he agreed to work with Yu Yuan Qi to shoot a wuxia movie showcasing various locales in the region, including Mt Ermei, Leshan Grand Budhha, Mt Qingcheng and Jiuzhaigou, to help boost tourism. Being in scripting phase, the storyline and Stephen Chow's part in the film are kept secret at the moment. The tentative cast include Sammo Hung and Zhang Yu Qi plus other artistes from The Star Overseas, as well as two important female roles that might be selected from Sichuan. The film, with an estimated budget of over 100m yuan, is expected to begin production at the end of the year or in early 2010 once Stephen Chow is happy with the script. EastDay
