Kungfu Cyborg, directed by Jeff Lau, starring Alex Fong, Hu Jun, Sun Li, Wu Jing, Ronald Cheng, Gan Wei, is a comedy exploring the intricate relations between humans and AI robots and the latter's abilities to think independently, opens on August 20.

-- Bodyguards and Assassins --

Two teaser trailers, one of which is Cannes promotional footage, and a detailed brochure may be found on Cinema Popular's film listing page.

 Bodyguards and Assassins, directed by Teddy Chan, stars Donnie Yen, Hu Jun, Fan Bing Bing, Nicolas Tse, Tong Leung Kar Fai, Xing Yu, Philip Ng, Cung Le, Wang Wen Jie, etc., is about a group of volunteers from all walks of life coming together to protect Sun Yat Sen from assassination when he was in Hong Kong.

According to a publicist, Michelle Reis would be making a brief appearance in the film, as someone who plays a pivotal role in the life of the Beggar.

Bodyguards and Assassins, which began production in late April, is wrapping up soon and is due for release on December 18, 2009.

-- Martial Spirit --

Martial Spirit trailer has arrived on Beijing Youth Net.

《武动青春》 Martial Spirit (formally 《热血同盟》 Hot-blooded Union), the directorial debut of Kou Zhan Wen, produced by Gold Typhoon, is an aspirational wushu film featuring Owodog Zhuang, Da Zhang Wei, He Zhong Hua (who plays Wong Kei Ying in Young Wong Fei Hung TV series), Zhang Chi, Theresa Fu.

The film is about an orphan Owodog Zhuang who despite little education, grows up reciting plenty of materials on wushu and wushu philosophy, with "Benevolence, Justice, Propriety and Wisdom" as his code of conduct. Under provocation from a rich brat Da Zhang Wei leading to clashes, Owodog's understanding of these philosophies grows, and in turn influences the delinquent Zhang Da Wei. Thus, the two youths from two different distinctly disparate backgrounds come together to espouse the invaluable Chinese Martial Spirit.

-- Taishan Kung Fu --

Director Tao Ming Xi's Kungfu film Taishan Kung Fu, filmed last summer, premiered in Beijing recently and is gradually being expanded to cinemas across other Chinese provinces. The film showcases Mt Tai's rare kungfu known as Stone Skill, and apart from scintillating martial arts scenes, it explores the culture of Mt Tai.

Taishan Kung Fu is Tai Ming Xi's fourth film as a director, with Huang Guan Bao as the martial arts director. The film stars Wu Yue, Wei Yu Hai, Xu Huan Huan, Zhao Pei, Cheng Pei Pei, Wang Fei Hong. Both Tao Ming Xi and Wei Yu Hai are members of Sammo Hung Stunt Team.
