-- Wind Blast --
Press conference was held on September 27 to mark the launch of the official trailer for Wind Blast, directed by Gao Qun Shu, starring Duan Yi Hong, Francis Ng, Wu Jing, Charlie Yeung, Ni Da Hong Yu Nan, Zhang Li, Ma Su. Francis Ng feels that Wind Blast was shot like an arthouse film, with one scene taking up to 30 days to shoot, and it's normal for a shot to take 1, 2 days to shoot. But director Gao Qun Shu, who is currently preparing his next work, a romantic crime thriller A Romantic Affair (tentative) and also has plans to make sequels to Wind Blast, disagrees, "It took us over 45 days to shoot the night raid scene, while the car chase took more than 20 days, would an arthouse film dare spend so much time on one scene? Commercial films tends to do well at the box office, only with sacrifice will there be returns."
So, who gets the top billing in Wind Blast or is this an ensemble film? Francis Ng says, "Rather than contending for the male lead, why not see who gets nominated, who would receive rewards? Xia Yu thinks it's not important: "This film is the fruit of everyone's efforts, we just do our best in fulfilling our parts well." But Ni Da Hong lodges a complaint, "Before filming began, the director told me, you're definitely the film's leading male actor, in the end, it becomes like this." The shrewd director smiles, "That's what I told each of them. Actually, we have 8 leading characters in this film, the 6 actors and 2 actresses would vie for awards in the best actor and best actress categories respectively, while I'm the best supporting actor"
Barely blown away by the teaser trailer? Or dozed off through the extended trailer? Here comes the official Wind Blast trailer (Warning: mature content!), uploaded to Youtube by Filmsmash, that looks poised to blast some serious wind.
