Wu Jing: At first, I was wondering, given Sammo Hung's size and weight, would he be swift enough to match my speed, and if he'd have sufficient strength and stamina. It turns out that Sammo Hung is really fast, much faster than I, and has better strength and stamina too. It was extremely thrilling to spar against him.
Sammo Hung: I've said countless times already, Wu Jing is really not bad. I hope he'd be given more chances to develop his career, to realise his potential. It's not enough right now, I hope he could scale greater heights.
Dennis Law: I believe the scene the audience would want to see most is the clash between Sammo Hung and Wu Jing. This is also one of the scenes that I'm most happy with. Rather than fist to fist combat, I let them fight with weapons they excel in. Sammo Hung is proficient in cudgel, so I assign him a metal pole/water pipe. Wu Jing is a champion in swordplay, so he's given a sword.
And I wish to convey a message in the film, which is my personal outlook on destiny: One should not go against fate, or one might not come to a good end.
Wu Jing: The most unforgettable moment was when Jacky Heung and I jumped out of a building before it exploded. It seemed that the timing was off, we jumped too early. We were blown off by the explosion. Jacky Heung was hurt, his foot was bleeding. The director asked if we could do another take. I said fine, but ask Jacky. He said fine. It's as if we were experiencing being blown apart, we couldn't even tell if it was real or not. It's like having gone through life and death.
