Casting Call for Upcoming Yuen Wo Ping Project

Edko Films Productions has put out an open casting call for an as yet “untitled” Hong Kong/China martial arts project to be choreographed and directed by the legendary Yuen Woo-ping. Edko reps are looking for a variety of fighters of all shapes, sizes and styles, traditional martial arts, MMA, UFC/cage fighters/WWE and everything in between. Details at Kung Fu Cinema.

Cool. Its about time we see another
film directed by the legendary yuen wo
ping. If i were to pick who should be in
this movie, I would pick wu jing without
a Doubt. These are other names i would highly consider for a project like this would be zhao wen zhou, Philip Ng (since hes a sifu in kung fu and other MAs), Xing Yu ( the guy who played coolie in kung fu hustle) , Kane Kosugi , Scott Adkins, Ron Smoorenburg, Joey Ansah of Bourne Ultimatum, Silvio Simac, Ray Park of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, John Foo of Tom Yum Goong, Michael Jai White, Marko Zaror of Kiltro (also The Rock's Stunt double in the rundown) and Tiger Chen of Yuen wo ping's stunt team. I don't expect to see any of these guys in this movie but it was a nice thought to think that these guys could be in the movie. Cant wait to these movie project whatever it'll be, I know wo ping will not disappoint.

It's been a decade since Yuen Wo Ping last directed and there're a few projects with Yuen Wo Ping's name attached in the past few years but none seems to have taken off.

It nice to know that something is finally happening. Since they're doing casting call, it should be a sign that they're quite ready to begin production soon. The leads probably have already been decided, but we don't know who at this time.
