Before he could finish work at his charity school that provides free education and lodging for talented teens with financial difficulties, Li Qi Long received call sheet from the production of 'Yip Man', directed by Wilson Yip. So, he arrived on the set of 'Yip Man' in Shanghai on Feb 17 morning. After having finished his makeup in the afternoon, Li Qi Long met Donnie Yen on the set. They previously collaborated on Painted Skin over a month ago.

After briefly greeting Donnie Yen, he proceeded for training with Sammo Hung. The Martial arts choreographer Sammo Hung asked the Shaolin disciple Li Qilong to display his skills, so that he could choreograph the martial arts sequences accordingly. Cast update: Zhang Yan Bin, who's the casting agent for 'Yip Man', lists Fan Siu Wong and Xing Yu as part of the production too, playing Jin Shan Zhao and Martial Fanatic Lin respectively, while Li Qi Long takes on the role of Green Dragon and HK Changquan champion 杜宇航 To Yu Hang, 27, plays Hu Wei.

I want to see this film so badly. Donnie yen portrays Yip Man, Wilson Yip as the director and sammo as the martial arts director. I like how, as I've commented on that Li Yuan article, I like to see more new faces on screen in martial arts/action films, I like how they've gotten the shaolin martial artist/actor Li Qi Long (A Legend of shaolin Kung Fu) in the film. I 100% sure Sammo Hung will make Li look good on screen with the martial arts sequences. With this being said, I'm eagerly waiting for this film to hit theaters/DVD in 2009 (most likely).

With Sammo Hung choreographing 'Yip Man', there's no question about the quality of the martial arts scenes. I haven't seen anything that betters Prodigal Son as far as Wing Chun is shown on the screen.

I wonder how long Li Qi Long will stay on the production. He's supposed to be starring in Dong Hai Chuan series that's about to start filming soon.

Quick update: Li Qi Long has just completed his scenes after two months of filming.
