-- Sha Po Lang--
According to Kenji Tanigaki's Diary Entry, dated 13 July 2004, shooting of Sha Po Lang's 《杀破狼》 ending in Guangdong nightclub is taking a few more days longer than expected. For the past 10 days, the production would get up and start preparing for filming at 1.30 am and work till 6 pm the next day.
As it was the nightclub's rest day on Sunday, they slogged non-stop for over 24 hours on that day. The stuntmen were hurt and some were limping. The production was completely worn out and expressing dissatisfaction for shooting seemed to go on forever. Donnie Yen and Kenji Tanigaki even got into a heated argument due to Donnie Yen requesting for seemingly impossible stunts. As the martial arts director, Kenji Tanigaki has to ensure the safety of everyone on the set, and so he had to voice out the concerns of the stuntmen. On the other hand, he also had to accommodate Donnie Yen's request to the best of his ability.
In the recent days, they have been shooting the showdown between Sammo Hung and Donnie Yen. Kenji Tanigaki has learned a lot from Sammo Hung. Sammo Hung displays amazing prowess in martial arts, his movements executed with such precision and control. Moreover, Sammo Hung has been most cooperative and accommodating, is never disgruntled about having to sustain hits, and in fact even offers many suggestions to Kenji Tanigaki. Having such professionalism, Sammo Hung is naturally well-respected by the crew. Kenji expects to return to Japan after the finale is completed while the rest of the crew heads back to Hong Kong for further filming. Kenji Tanigaki Official Site
