Currently, True Legend, directed by Yuen Wo Ping, is being filmed on Beijing Fee Tang Soundstage where a gargantuan indoor set comprising rocky hills, steep cliffs, wooden steps, suspended bridge, etc. was built.

The indoor set, occupying 5 km², took the production three months and around 3 to 4 million yuan to create. Computer generated images will be added later to convey the grandeur of the backdrop. After adding in the costs of the cast, the crew and post-production, this scene will use up over 10m yuan.
This set will be featured in the opening whereby Beggar Su (Zhao Wen Zhuo) leads around 20 people at night to sneak into the stockade in a mountain to rescue someone.
Another set features statues of Buddha head and Buddha feet. Green screens were draped behind them. When the saddled Beggar Su goes deranged as he overexerts himself in training, he sees himself in another dimension, with a Buddha statue, whose size is large beyond imagination, looming before him.

Divinity of Martial Arts descends from Heaven, and confronts Zhao Wen Zhuo. Under Divinity of Martial Arts's guidance, Beggar Su manages to overcome his inner demon, thereby elevating his skills.
Zhao Wen Zhuo says that as this scene is figment of Beggar Su's imagination, the set and makeup will be more outlandish.
True Legend is expected to take 5 months in production and Yuen Wo Ping is taking great pains to delivering a worthy martial arts movie, taking time to explain the moves step by step, watching playback at reduced speed, doing retakes if anything is not up to his satisfaction. Yuen Woo Ping's also applying what he has learned from his Hollywood career on this movie. Sina, Sohu
