Xiong Xin Xin was selected to join Guangxi Wushu Team when he was 12, spending 8 years on the team. Due to his diligence and intelligence, and ability to take hardships, his skills improved by leaps and bounds, winning a number of gold medals at national wushu competitions, and was even appointed the captain. He has learned to be independent and perseverant since then, not one to give up easily no matter what.
In 1983, Xiong Xin Xin retired from the wushu team and returned to his hometown to teach wushu. A year later, his former teammate phoned him, informing him that Liu Chia Liang was coming to Beijing to shoot Martial Arts of Shaolin and needed some stunt doubles. Xiong Xin Xin took up the offer, and became Jet Li's double. He won the admiration of Liu Chia Liang due to his athleticism. The latter said that he would hire him in the future.
In 1987, Liu Chiang Liang invited Xiong Xin Xin to develop his career in Hong Kong. So, under Liu Chiang Liang and his company's care, the 25 year-old began his life in the entertainment circle in Hong Kong.
Xiong Xin Xin's career took a major turn after Liu Chia Yung introduced him to Tsui Hark on the set of Once Upon a Time in China where he again did doubling for Jet Li. Appreciating his talents, Tsui Hark not only cast him in the immediate sequel as a major villain and in subsequent sequels as Clubfoot Seven - the role he's most famous for, but also hire him to work as stunt coordinator.
Xiong Xin Xin is married with a 5 year old daughter.
Seeing the lack of fresh martial arts talent in the industry, Xiong Xin Xin vowed to do a Chinese modern actioner with a female fighter - one that showcases what a real action movie is through capable newcomer. After much auditions, he picked Jiang Lu Xia, who can fight, tumble and fall, to play the lead in Coweb. Jiang Lu Xia would work uncomplainingly to complete whatever demanding actions designed for her, in spite of pains, aches and hardships.
However, not being a famous director, and not having any bigtime star, no studios were willing to bankroll Coweb, despite being impressed with Jiang Lu Xia's demo reel. In the end, he formed his own studio, and under limited budget and resources, as well as the hard work of the cast and crew, finally completed Coweb, with support from producer Joe Ma and Eddie Chan.
