Comments (0) Trackbacks (0) Tuesday, May 6. 2008Forbidden Kingdom Sequel A Go?-- Forbidden Kingdom Sequel -- Having raked in US$70m in all worldwide, Huayi Brothers announces that they will be collaborating with Hollywood studios to produce Forbidden Kingdom sequel, with Lu Yan (Jackie Chan), Silent Monk (Jet Li), Jade Warlord (Ngai Sing), White Hair Demoness (Li Bing Bing) making a return.
While the script for Forbidden Kingdom sequel is far from completion, it's possible that the scenes giving background to White Hair Demoness, her past relationship, her hatred towards men that were cut from the original will be put back. Jet Li, who hopes to introduce Monkey King to the West, says casually that they could even have Monkey King battling DC comics superheroes like Superman, Batman in the sequel.
Apart from Forbidden Kingdom sequel, producer Casey Silver also intends to make another pic Legend of Lin Chong, with possibly either Jet Li or Chow Yun Fatt cast as the eponymous hero Leopard Head Lin Chong, one of the 108 heroic outlaws from Water Margins. Beijing Times

He wishes everyone a happy May Day and says that he has benefited tremendously from working with Sammo Hung, Donnie Yen and Wilson Yip again, his acting and screen fighting ability being taken to the next levels. The Moss, directed by Derek Kwok and produced by Mei Ah, is about Shawn Yue playing an undercover cop in nightspots and falling for a streetwalker Bonnie Sin while Fan Siu Wong plays someone conned into coming to Hong Kong and forced to worked as an assassin. The film is scheduled for release in late June. Some photos of Fan Siu Wong grubbiness at CRI.
Kinta 1881 is Malaysia's first martial arts film starring local wushu champions Robin Ho, Michael Chin, Kuan Fei Jun, Shawn Lee and David Bao. Chin Kar Lok and Philip Ng, currently in production of Hands of the Dragon, choreographed the action sequences. The movie is set in the Kinta Valley in the 1880s, when tin ore was discovered in the area and Chinese immigrants flooded the valley in the hope of making their fortune.

A press conference was held on April 29 for Donnie Yen's other film Painted Skin remake, during which contracts were signed with 10 major Chinese cinema operators regarding its distribution in China. The release date was announced as September 28. Donnie Yen says that he has never approached a role from the perspective of love, and it's a breakthrough for him in terms of acting.
