Zhao Wenzhou's going to Hollywood is long over due. He's a very talented actor who's been overlooked most of the time. I'm very proud and happy for him! The first time I saw him was in the OUATIC TV series( aired locally in the Philippines ) and I was only 18 yrs old then! Now I'm turning 29 and must admit, that I still have a huge crush on Wenzhou:)

Again I wish Zhao Wenzhou all the luck!

Cheers:)

Shawn Yue once said that he doesn't wish to do any more action roles after Invisible Target as he's not been trained in martial arts since young. Yet, ironically, he's been getting action roles - one after another.

Perhaps, because this is quite a big production, and Yuen Wo Ping is accountable to the investors, he has to - against his own choice - cast someone with more bankability. Or perhaps, as the protoganist would be putting on a mask when he goes pillaging, it doesn't matter so much here. Anyhow, since the dust has already settled apparently, we can only wish for martial artists for the villains. Wasn't there a casting call for this, after all?

I would imagine CGIs would be employed in a more subtle fashion like digital enhancements, face replacements (for ahem doubling), maybe some bullet-time or something Yuen Wo Ping picked up from Hollywood. Even then I would prefer less special effects, for even in Fearless, the digital speed-ups and slow-mos are quite distracting.

oh darn, I was afriad it was going to star non-martial artists. as good of an actor louis koo may be, i cant really see him doing any martial arts in a movie. Plus, their will be special effects in their? how dissappointing, i wished wo ping kept the action real. I got only one question? whatever happened to just being able to spot for new talents (actual martial artists) and giving them the lead roles like what wo ping did with jackie chan, donnie and wu jing?

Heres a little suggestion, I think if martial arts actors want to take action films to the next level, they should cross train in other areas of martial arts and then take what they learned from an art thats relatively new to them and show them on screen the best way possible. I dont know if knowing kung fu/wushu is enough, nowadays if you want to gain more and more people to the martial arts film genre, you got to show something different like say what donnie did with flashpoint showing mma, tony jaa showed muay boran in ong bak (and yes some of his acrobatic kicks isnt something new) and what johnny nguyen did with the rebel showing vovinam (vietnamese martial art) in the film. I personally think it would help if an actor cross-trained.

Thanks for clearing that up. Makes less sense to me... Xing Yu worked with both Sammo and Woo Ping in Kung Fu Hustle as well as Nicky Li in Fatal Contact (although it's just a cameo) and those movies weren't enough experience for him?

but on the other hand, those had the standard HK choreography which Yu had no problem getting into but only for the MMA choreography did he had difficulties because he was never trained nor familiar with western styles. Maybe that's what Donnie meant by that quote.

Wasn't the head injury a slightly earlier scene, where Xing Yu was running down the road?

Here's the quote regarding the audio commentary from Kungfu Cinema: "But as soon as the action heats up Donnie lights up and starts talking his head off about the frustrations of working with the promising, yet inexperienced Xing Yu and shooting various action sequences."

So, perhaps, getting the Dragon Dynasty Flash Point DVD might shed some light on the difficulties Donnie Yen had working with Xing Yu. Anyhow, with Sammo Hung choreographing this time, it might be different for Xing Yu.
