-- New Age Vampire Warriors --
Director Dennis Law's supernatural action comedy, New Age Vampire Warriors, starring Jiang Lu Xia, Yuen Wah, Chrissie Chau, Chin Siu Ho, Pinky Cheung, Xiong Xin Xin, Dada, A. Lin, has just begun production on June 11, 2010.
As the Vampire Lord, Yuen Wah will be fighting almost everyone throughout the film, in particular, Jiang Lu Xia. To avenge her sister's death, Jiang Lu Xia has been trying to take Yuen Wah's life from the outset. As a veteran martial arts star, Yuen Wah heaps praises on Jiang Lu Xia, as it's rare to see an actress capable of fighting, and Jiang Lu Xia's moves are especially lethal and outstanding. Their exchange ended in both having bruises.
Apart from action, Jiang Lu Xia will have many dramatic and emotional scenes. She'll also be sporting long tresses for the first time, "This image is very feminine, allowing me to exhibit my kungfu as well as a tender side, I like this role very much, and hope to give everyone a brand new feel."
New Age Vampire Warriors is wrapping up at end of July. Dennis Law intends to make sequels if the reception is good. Netease, TOM

-- Bad Blood -- Dennis Law's Bad Blood is opening in Hong Kong on January 21, while gala premiere will be held on 18. Playing a mute girl in this film was very challenging to Jiang Lu Xia, who had to convey all her emotions through gestures and facial expressions. She went to a deaf-mute school for training, and while the film was in production, she treated herself almost as if she was a mute, barely uttering a word on the set, and would use hand signs to communicate instead.
Dennis Law says that there are many fresh and exciting martial arts sequences, choreographed by Nicky Li, in the film, especially the finale between Jiang Lu Xia and Bernice Liu. Jiang Lu Xia says she was very happy to be working with Bernice Liu, "I had always thought of Bernice Liu as someone very gentle, but unbeknownst to me, she was very good at fighting too, especially the finale, after calling it a day, I realised I was bruising, I was so worried that I might suffer from internal injury. Haha!"

Days in Shaolin Many kids have the tendency to swap pointers with their friends after watching martial arts films or TV series. That 蒋璐霞 Jiang Lu Xia, 23, walks the path of wushu is also on the account of these works. "When I was very young, my father loved martial arts shows, and I would watch them with him. While I hadn't had the slightest inklings of the mechanics, I was envious of those people on the screen who could fly. Then, I made up my mind, I must train this, so that I could soar to school every day," recounts Jiang Lu Xia in her interview.

-- Interview: Dennis Law on Fatal Move -- Patience is a virtue for the steady moving director of Fatal Move. Like many others with a passion for the movies, Dennis Law chose to study filmmaking at university. On his return to Hong Kong he decided to bide his time, rather than try to immediately put into practice what he had learnt at film school in Los Angeles. In an interview with bc, the one time chairman and executive director of Milkyway Image talked about having realized that, unlike those – especially actresses in Chinese cinema – who work before the lens, “There is no age limit for a director or anybody who works behind the camera.”
Consequently, Law, who frankly describes himself as “a very cautious person”, felt no rush to make films and was, instead, content to wait for the right chance and right person to come along. “Then,” he continued, “because life had a different [plan] for me, I started working in real estate.” All the while, however, “I never gave up my chance to meet film people, to get to know them and try to seek some opportunity to learn or invest,” even though he spent the next decade making his mark in the property industry. -- Fatal Move -- The gala premiere of Fatal Move on Feb 26 was attended by director Dennis Law, producer Charles Heung and his son Jacky Heung, most of the cast members including Sammo Hung, Simon Yam, Ken Lo, Wu Jing, Maggie Shiu, Tien Niu, Carisa Yan, Lau Kam Ling, etc. Simon Yam appears especially excited. He greets the audiences effusively and also provides autographs prodigiously. He says that at Berlin Film Festival, the film was sold to an India distributor and he was invited to do promotions in India in May.
Sammo Hung appears quieter and more stoic, and he doesn't forget to promote the younger generations. He says that Wu Jing is one with very bright future, but timing is not favourable due to lack of martial arts films being produced. Sammo Hung hopes that, given his skills, Wu Jing would carve out a niche for himself in the film industry. Video: Sina, Sohu | More photos: Tom, QQ, Mop

-- Fatal Move -- In a bid to bringing freshness to the audience and to re-invigorate the market, director Dennis Law makes the HK$20m Fatal Move an action-packed film that is full of extreme violence and gore, to the extent that it receives a Category 3 rating in Hong Kong. And by the same token, it won't be released in Mainland theatres as Dennis Law refuses to compromise by editing a tamer version that conforms to their strict censorship.
Dennis Law instead sets his sights on the Western market, with an assembly of cast familiar to them - Sammo Hung, Ken Lo, Simon Yam, Danny Lee, where Chinese martial arts film DVDs are selling very well. He believes that the martial arts scenes are the strongest asset of Fatal Move, in particular, the major weapon fight scene between Sammo Hung and Wu Jing.
