Director Benny Chan didn't thought of doing a science-fiction initially (This was also echoed by Wu Jing on another occasion, who mentioned that it was a crime film when the director first approached him.), but as he doesn't want to repeat what he has done before, such as the typical cops vs crooks, car chase or gun combats.

Ngai Sing (or Collin Chou) says that he admires director Benny Chan for his enterprising spirit, "Director Benny Chan is very bold, he dares experiment something he has never done before, I take my hats off to him for that. I also admire his talents, no matter what subject he's filming, it's as if he's telling the ups and downs of one's life.

-- City Under Siege -- In this sci-fi actioner directed by Benny Chan, action directed by Ma Yuk Sing and Nicky Li, and starring Aaron Kwok, Ngai Sing, Wu Jing, Zhang Jing Chu, Tie Nan, Zhang Bao Wen, Shu Qi, Benny Chan is upping the ante by lavishly spending around 70m yuan on big explosive action scenes, one of which involves 30 cars crashing.
Having a hand in the choreography, Wu Jing is incorporating some elements of Tai Chi in his martial arts sequences, such as his climatic battle against Ngai Sing, that the latter describes as so intense and frenzied that sparks were flying all over the place. City Under Siege opens in China on August 8, in Hong Kong on the following week, and in Singapore and Malaysia 2 weeks later. Why did you opted for the era of warlords? Benny Chan: The story concerning thirteen cudgel monks rescuing Tang prince has been adapted too many times. So, I checked with the abbot, the notable legends of Shaolin Temple in the past 1500 years, there was this legend, concerning a warlord ransacking Shaolin Temple to look for another warlord, before setting it ablaze. Being partial to this legend, I settled for the warlords era. That period was very turbulent, China was already facing foreign invasion, yet the Chinese were still fighting among themselves.

-- Bad Blood -- Dennis Law's Bad Blood is opening in Hong Kong on January 21, while gala premiere will be held on 18. Playing a mute girl in this film was very challenging to Jiang Lu Xia, who had to convey all her emotions through gestures and facial expressions. She went to a deaf-mute school for training, and while the film was in production, she treated herself almost as if she was a mute, barely uttering a word on the set, and would use hand signs to communicate instead.
Dennis Law says that there are many fresh and exciting martial arts sequences, choreographed by Nicky Li, in the film, especially the finale between Jiang Lu Xia and Bernice Liu. Jiang Lu Xia says she was very happy to be working with Bernice Liu, "I had always thought of Bernice Liu as someone very gentle, but unbeknownst to me, she was very good at fighting too, especially the finale, after calling it a day, I realised I was bruising, I was so worried that I might suffer from internal injury. Haha!"

Owing to low temperature and onslaughts of tempest, filming progress of Legendary Four: Tempest of the Westerly Winds, directed by Gao Qun Shu, choreographed by Nicky Li, is stymied. But, according to Lang Chen on his blog, the film should be wrapping up pretty soon.
Lang Chen, who was commissioned by Wu Jing to write Way of Tai Chi, is personally planning another work 《战士》 Warrior (tentative) for Wu Jing. He's writing the script with Wu Jing in mind and he would also be directing, though it is still quite far off before production begins.
He says that he mentions Wu Jing very often on his blog because he likes Wu Jing very much, for his simplicity, for his dedication to filmmaking, for the vulnerabilities and sensitivities within his heart.
It was when he first talked to him, for a few hours, that changed the way he looked at Wu Jing, who was but a kungfu star to him, a sunny person, and one with pride. When chatting, it is inevitable to gossip, to speak ill of others, yet in those few fours of talk, any word that came from Wu Jing's mouth did not involve anything negative about anyone.
And that is the type of people Lang Chen respects and adores. "Wu Jing is an actor, and has also become a director, I'm a director, and also a script writer, so, in our interaction, our topics mostly revolve around those things we that shared most passions on. He had his own views, and in fact, he had never-ending streams of ideas. Being in the industry of over 10 years, working till he's all burned out, was perhaps what he would desire most. I would augment his ideas, and also got rectified by him, I brought out new ideas... and the time passed quickly."
