Both Jet Li and Andy Lau are being nominated for Best Actor award for their roles in the same film Warlords. Warlords has also received nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Film Editing, Best Art Direction, Best Costume & Makeup, Best Sound Effects and Best Original Film Score. Nicky Li (Invisible Target), Kong Tao Hoi (Twins Mission), Ching Siu Tung (Warlords), Chin Kar Lok (Protege) and Donnie Yen (Flash Point) are contending for Best Action Direction. The awards ceremony will be held on April 15.  HKFAA

-- Wu Jing's Future Works and Fatal Move --

After attending Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan, Paco Wong comforts Wu Jing, telling him not to be discouraged for not winning the award. Wu Jing is not disheartened, saying that it's already a big encouragement to be nominated, a form of confirmation to his acting. So, he's already very happy. At least, his effort and diligence has not gone down the drain.

In the recent years, Wu Jing has stood out in action films, gaining attention from within and without Mainland, and has also been approached by US studios occasionally. Wu Jing has been working hard on improving his command of English, so that when the right opportunity comes knocking, he'd not miss it.

His manager Paco Wong says that he'd be producing a martial arts film next year and Wu Jing would not only be starring in it, but he'd also let Wu Jing be the director, so that he can show his understanding and prowess of wushu on the silver screen.

-- Twins Mission DVD --

Twins Mission DVD will be out on April 3. Twins Mission, starring Wu Jing, Sammo Hung, Gillian Chung, Charlene Choi, Zhang Qian, Yuen Wah, is about the attempt at recovery of a stolen Tibetan artifact - dzi bead. Featuring sophisticated fight scenes, a deftly crafted scene of pilfering, lots of real life twins, humour, heartwarming moments, it's a delightful New Year movie that grossed over HK$6m at Hong Kong box office.

-- Plot of Twins Mission (Let's Steal Together) --

Spoilers: A Dzi bead from Tibet was on its way to Hong Kong for an exhibition, but was stolen by a mysterious gang with a possible link to a long-lost cult, the Gemini Clan. The guardian of the Dzi bead Lucky (Sammo Hung) and his adopted son Hey (Wu Jing) tried to solicit the help of the head of the Clan, the Principal, to track down the bead.

Unwilling to come out of retirement, the Principal refused to get involved, but when Lucky was seriously wounded after another attack by the mysterious gang, the Principal reluctantly summoned the help of the Clan’s former members – Twins (Gillian Chung and Charlene Choi).

In the meantime the suicide of an artifact dealer put the police hot on the heels of the Principal and his students. When Hey finally retrieved the bead, he mistakenly handed it to the Principal’s twin brother, the Boss, who was the master mind behind the theft in an attempt to take over a prime piece of property along the coast.  EMG

It had been a tough job for the crew and cast to work on the set of Let's Steal Together in Guangzhou, with temperature reaching as high as 38ºC. Having to do a series of action scenes, it's inevitable that Sammo Hung, Gillian Chung, Charlene Choi and Wu Jing perspired a lot with even with the slightest move.

When Tsui Siu Ming and Sammo Hung held several meetings to discuss their upcoming collaboration Howling Arrow, Tsui Siu Ming mentioned the storyline of Let's Steal Together to Sammo Hung, who found it to be appealing. So, Tsui Siu Ming invited him to join this movie as well, to give the audience a pleasant surprise. Coupled with suggestions from Sammo Hung, producer Tsui Siu Ming and director Kong Tao Hoi designed many earthshaking fight scenes in the movie. Sammo Hung plays a lama who is skilled healer, and has many scenes opposite Wu Jing.

"After accepting Let's Steal Together, I often contemplated on improving the action scenes. This time around, Wu Jing is my partner. I have already witnessed his excellent skills in SPL (aka Kill Zone), in which he showed his great agility and power. He is someone with great potential. So, it's a great opportunity to work with him on a martial arts film. I believe I have a very important mission: to protect the two lovely female leads Twins Gillian Chung and Charlene Choi. Though they have encountered hundreds of battles, but facing such a strong opponent as Wu Jing, it'd benefit them to learn some self-defense techniques, so that they would be able to counter his attacks."

Wu Jing feels it a great fortune to work with Sammo Hung again, saying that he has much to learn from him, "I respect brother Sammo Hung a lot, for he treats everyone on the set equally, taking good care of newcomers like us. For example, when he learned that I'd injured myself when filming, he visited me to enquire about my wellbeing. He even said, 'Though you might have had some minor injuries, I won't hold back when filming, for we have to achieve that authentic feel.' He told me not to be hesitant when fighting him simply because he was a senior. He wanted me to give my all. It's very lucky to work with such a professional actor like brother Sammo Hung."   Sina

-- SPL 2 --

On Aug 29, Paco Wong arranged for Wu Jing, who has just wrapped up Let's Steal Together, to go to Hong Kong to meet the press and talk about future plans. Paco Wong declared that they'd be filming SPL 2 next year, sometime after the Lunar New Year. Wu Jing, Sammo Hung and Simon Yam has already signed on to this project.

Paco Wong revealed that SPL 2 is a prequel to the original movie, mainly dealing with the relationships between Sammo Hung, Simon Yam and Wu Jing. And in order for it to be approved for release in China, they'd try to accommodate the film regulations of Mainland, reducing some gore. They'd also increase the proportion of fight scenes to keep it thrilling. It's possible that SPL 2 will pit Wu Jing against a number of foreign martial artists, one of whom might possibly be Tony Jaa.

While SPL 2 is still in pre-production, Wu Jing has his own views of the film's plot, "I feel that the prequel should describe how I turn into a cold-blooded killer, why would I carry out a series of murders on Father's Day, why I'd regard Sammo Hung as my father..."

Wu Jing came to Hong Kong mainly to do dubbing for Fatal Contact, which opens in Hong Kong on October 5. Fatal Contact would not be released theatrically in Mainland. Rather, it'd go straight to video there.  Nanfang Daily

- Let's Steal Together --

Let's Steal Together is a HK$24m contemporary martial arts comedy that is basically about several artful thieves' hunt for treasure. The cast includes Gillian Chung, Charlene Choi, Wu Jing, Zhang Qian, Yuen Wah, Shek Sau, Sammo Hung, Steven Cheung, etc. Let's Steal Together is expected to be released in early 2007.

It's the first time Kong Tao Hoi, an action director and production planner, works as a director. He was the one behind all sorts of sleight of hand card tricks that Chow Yun Fat did in God of Gamblers. This time around, he will devise not only a set of tough moves for The Twins, but also fresh, novel ways of pilfering.

-- Let's Steal Together --

Production of 《双子神偷》 Let's Steal Together, directed by Kong Tao Hoi, has begun in mid July. Gillian Chung and Charlene Choi are playing twin sisters who are thieves and who do not have the same looks. Gillian Chung, who has to handle a series of action scenes since the first day of the shoot, is worried that she might have difficulties dealing with them since she didn't have time to prepare for the action scenes beforehand due to her busy schedule.

While Gillian Chung and Charlene Choi regret not being able to work with Tian Liang, they're glad to work with martial arts stars Sammo Hung and Wu Jing. The script has already been amended to include more challenging martial arts scenes for Sammo Hung and Wu Jing. On Friday, July 14, Wu Jing's managers Paco Wong and Syllina went to meet him on the set of Let's Steal Together in Guangzhou. Firstly, they had some discussions with the producer and director as Wu Jing is always very serious about each work he does, and would want to find out what the director requires of him, and coupled with his grasp of his role, hopes to deliver his best. Quite a few of members of the production have worked with Wu Jing before.

Wu Jing plays dual roles as twin brothers, one of which is a police who is assigned the task of recovering a stolen artifact. The production will stay in Guangzhou till end of July, after which it will move location to Shenzhen for a month, before finally moving back to Hong Kong and wrapping up.
